Former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati is raising over $100 million for her new AI startup, which will focus on creating AI products using its own models.
Murati left OpenAI last month, praising the company for advancing how AI systems handle complex problems.
She said she needed time and space to explore her own projects but gave no further details. Sounds like my last break-up.
Before joining OpenAI as VP of applied AI in 2018, she worked at Tesla and Leap Motion.
She’s the boss
She became CTO in 2022 and briefly served as interim CEO during Sam Altman’s short absence.
Her departure follows other top-level exits, including the chief research officer and research VP.
